那位獨一的神能夠保守你們不失足，並且使你們毫無瑕疵、懷著喜樂站在他的榮耀面前；

萬物的結局臨近了，所以你們為了禱告的緣故應當清醒、謹慎。

主人回來的時候，看見哪些奴僕警醒著，那些奴僕就蒙福了。我確實地告訴你們：主人會束上腰帶，請他們坐席，並來伺候他們。即使主人在二更天或在三更天才回來，也看見他們仍然警醒著，那些人就蒙福了。不過你們應當知道這一點：一家的主人如果知道賊什麼時候來，就不會讓他的房子被人鑽進。你們也應當做好準備，因為在你們意想不到的時候，人子就來了。」

為此，要拿起神的全副武裝，好使你們在邪惡的日子能夠抵擋，並且在完成一切以後，還站立得住。所以，你們要站立得住：用真理束上腰，穿上公義的護胸甲；

不住地禱告，

這正是神公義審判的證據，好使你們算是配得上神的國；你們也正是為此而受苦害的。神既然真是公義的，當主耶穌與他有大能的天使們一起從天上顯現的時候，他就要以患難回報那些加患難給你們的人，

不過他來的日子，誰能承受得起呢？他顯現的時候，誰能站立得住呢？因為他像煉金之人的火，又像漂布之人的鹼。

你們要以各樣的禱告和祈求，藉著聖靈時刻祈禱；而且為此警醒，以極大的忍耐，為所有聖徒祈求，也為我祈求，好使我在開口的時候被賜予話語，能坦然無懼地讓人明白福音的奧祕——

他是個敬虔的人，與全家都敬畏神；他慷慨地賙濟民眾，常常向神禱告。

你們要恆切禱告，禱告中要保持警醒，懷著感謝的心。

至於你，要在一切事上謹慎，忍受苦難，做傳福音者的工作，完成你的服事。

因此，在審判的時候，惡人將站立不住；在義人的會眾裡，罪人也是如此。

但那些算是配得上承受那世代，又配得上從死人中復活的人，既不娶也不嫁。
