耶稣对他们讲一个比喻，论到人必须常常祈祷，不可灰心。

愿荣耀、威严、能力、权柄，藉着我们的主耶稣基督，从万世以前，及现在，直到永永远远，归给独一的神我们的救主。他能保守你们不至跌倒，使你们毫无瑕疵、欢然站在他荣光之前。阿们。

万物的结局近了，所以你们要谨慎警醒地祷告。

主人来到了，看见仆人警醒，这些仆人就有福了。我实在告诉你们，主人必亲自束腰，招待他们吃饭，进前来侍候他们。主人也许半夜之前，或天亮之前回来，看见他们这样，这些仆人就有福了。你们都知道，家主若晓得窃贼什么时候来，就不会让他摸进屋里。你们也要准备妥当，因为在想不到的时候，人子就来了。”

所以要穿起神所赐的全副军装，使你们在这邪恶的时代里可以抵挡得住，并且在作完了一切之后，还能站立得稳。因此，你们要站稳，用真理当带子束腰，披上公义的胸甲，

他以全能者为乐，时时求告神吗？

不住祷告，

这正是神公义判断的明证，使你们可以算是配得上他的国；你们也是为了神的国而受苦。神既然是公义的，主耶稣和他有能力的天使从天上显现在火焰中的时候，就使你们这些受灾难的人，可以和我们同享安息；却以灾难报应那些把灾难加给你们的人。

可是，他来的日子，谁能当得起呢？他显现的时候，谁能站立得住呢？因为他像炼金之人的火，又像漂布之人的碱。

藉着各样的祷告和祈求，随时在圣灵里祈祷，并且要在这事上恒久警醒，为众圣徒祈求。也要为我祈求，使我传讲的时候，得着当说的话，可以坦然无惧地讲明福音的奥秘，

他是一个虔诚的人，他和全家都敬畏神，对人民行过许多善事，常常向神祷告。

你们要恒切祷告，在祷告的时候存着感恩的心警醒；

你却要凡事谨慎，忍受磨难、作传福音者的工作，完成你的职务。

因此，在审判的时候，恶人必站立不住；在义人的团体中，罪人也必这样。

但配得那世界的，又配从死人中复活的人，也不娶也不嫁。
