How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! There will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people.

吾儕欲傳道於異邦人以弘濟蒼生、若輩乃予以阻撓；因是若輩惡貫滿盈、而天主之盛怒、已臨其身矣。

蓋來日人將曰：「未妊之婦、未產之胎、未哺之乳、斯為福矣。」

夫吾人既認識真道、如再明知故犯、則不復有贖罪之祭、而其所餘者、惟觳觫待刑、以候吞滅悖逆之燎火而已。昔人干犯摩西律法、根據二三人之證言、尚且殺之無貸；何況蹂躪天主聖子、輕慢聖德所本之盟血、褻瀆恩寵所自之聖神、爾謂其所當受之刑罰、更堪設想乎！『伸冤在我、報應不爽。』『惟彼上主、黜陟厥民。』吾人固知作是語者之為誰也。遭受永生天主之譴怒、可怖也已！

一入閟帷、永開生路、萬古暢通；其所攜者、非羔犢之血、乃其自身所流之寶血也。夫以山羊牡牛之血、與夫牝牛之灰、灑於汙染之人、尚能潔其身而聖之；矧以基督無玷之身、憑聖神而自獻於天主之寶血、不更應滌吾人之良心於一切致死之行、俾得昭事永生之天主乎？且其所以為新約之仲介者、亦欲以一己之死、贖人於舊約下所犯之眾罪、而令蒙召者得承受所許之永遠基業耳。新約乃最後之遺囑也、既云遺囑、則立遺囑者必有一死、死而後其遺囑始生效、未有其人尚存、而其遺囑已生效者。

哀哉彼時之孕婦乳母也！

人若躓於斯石、受傷必重；斯石而隕於其身、體則糜矣。』

當時孕育哺乳者、亦可哀矣！

至我諸仇、不願予為其王者、曳來誅于吾前。」』

蓋審判之時機已熟；其以天主聖宅為開端、宜也。然既以吾人為開端、則一般未順天主福音之人、其結局又將如何！

咄咄富人、爾其休矣、災禍將臨爾身、爾盍哀號痛哭乎！

同時亦毋忘樂善助人、斯亦祭也；欲慰悅天心、莫善於此矣。

定期將至、爾敵將周圍築壘、四面相逼、夷爾墉堞、

曰：『必殲此惡類、而以葡萄園另租良農、俾得按時收菓。』
