耶利米起身離開耶路撒冷，前往便雅憫境內去接收他在同族中應得的地業。

我聽見天上又有一個聲音說：「我的子民啊，離開那城，以免沾染她的罪惡，受她所受的災禍。

羅得的妻子跟在後面，她回頭一望，就變成了一根鹽柱。

但當巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒進攻這裡的時候，我們決定來耶路撒冷躲避迦勒底和亞蘭的軍隊。因此，我們現在住在耶路撒冷。」

他對會眾說：「你們離這些惡人的帳篷遠一點，不要碰他們的任何東西，免得你們因他們的罪而受牽連，同遭毀滅。」

「便雅憫人啊，你們要逃離耶路撒冷！你們要在提哥亞吹響號角，在伯·哈基琳發出警報，因為有大災難從北方逼近。

明哲人遇禍躲避，愚昧人前往受害。

到了城外，其中一位天使說：「趕快逃！不要回頭看，也不要留在平原，要往山上逃，免得你們被毀滅。」

有些法老的臣僕聽了耶和華的話就很害怕，趕忙把在田間的僕人和牲畜都召回屋裡。但那些不把耶和華的話放在心上的，仍把他們的奴僕和牲畜留在田間。
