For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.

for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.”

praying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door for the word, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned;that I may make it clear in the way that I ought to proclaim it.

But they were unable to cope with his wisdom and the Spirit by whom he was speaking.

At my first defense no one supported me, but all deserted me; may it not be counted against them.But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that through me the proclamation might be fully accomplished, and that all the Gentiles might hear; and I was rescued out of the lion’s mouth.

Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures,

And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness.And the congregation of those who believed were of one heart and soul; and not one of them claimed that anything belonging to him was his own, but all things were common property to them.And with great power the apostles were giving testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and abundant grace was upon them all.

But the Lord said to him,“ Who has made the human mouth? Or who makes anyone unable to speak or deaf, or able to see or blind? Is it not I, the Lord?Now then go, and I Myself will be with your mouth, and instruct you in what you are to say.”

For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.

Agrippa replied to Paul,“ In a short time you are going to persuade me to make a Christian of myself.”

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them,“ Rulers and elders of the people,if we are on trial today for a benefit done to a sick man, as to how this man has been made well,let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead— by this name this man stands here before you in good health.He is the stone which was rejected by you, the builders, but which became the chief cornerstone.And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among mankind by which we must be saved.”Now as they observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed, and began to recognize them as having been with Jesus.

And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with different tongues, as the Spirit was giving them the ability to speak out.

But as he was discussing righteousness, self control, and the judgment to come, Felix became frightened and responded,“ Go away for now, and when I have an opportunity, I will summon you.”
