For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there will be earthquakes in various places; there will also be famines. These things are only the beginning of birth pains.

And I will display wonders in the sky above And signs on the earth below, Blood, fire, and vapor of smoke.The sun will be turned into darkness And the moon into blood, Before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes.

And it will come about on that day that a great panic from the Lord will fall on them; and they will seize one another’s hand, and the hand of one will be raised against the hand of another.

In those times there was no peace for him who went out or him who came in, because many disturbances afflicted all the inhabitants of the lands.Nation was crushed by nation, and city by city, for God troubled them with every kind of distress.

This expression,“ Yet once more,” denotes the removing of those things which can be shaken, as of created things, so that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city will be taken, the houses plundered, the women raped, and half of the city exiled, but the rest of the people will not be eliminated from the city.Then the Lord will go forth and fight against those nations, as when He fights on a day of battle.

I looked, and behold, a white horse, and the one who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.When He broke the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying,“ Come!”And another, a red horse, went out; and to him who sat on it, it was granted to take peace from the earth, and that people would kill one another; and a large sword was given to him.When He broke the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying,“ Come!” I looked, and behold, a black horse, and the one who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand.And I heard something like a voice in the center of the four living creatures saying,“ A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not damage the oil and the wine.”When the Lamb broke the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying,“ Come!”I looked, and behold, an ashen horse; and the one who sat on it had the name Death, and Hades was following with him. Authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, and famine, and plague, and by the wild animals of the earth.When the Lamb broke the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been killed because of the word of God, and because of the testimony which they had maintained;and they cried out with a loud voice, saying,“ How long, O Lord, holy and true, will You refrain from judging and avenging our blood on those who live on the earth?”And a white robe was given to each of them; and they were told that they were to rest for a little while longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brothers and sisters who were to be killed even as they had been, was completed also.And I looked when He broke the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake; and the sun became as black as sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became like blood;

“ Speak to Zerubbabel governor of Judah, saying,‘ I am going to shake the heavens and the earth.And I will overthrow the thrones of kingdoms and destroy the power of the kingdoms of the nations; and I will overthrow the chariots and their riders, and the horses and their riders will go down, every one by the sword of another.’

One of them, named Agabus, stood up and indicated by the Spirit that there would definitely be a severe famine all over the world. And this took place in the reign of Claudius.

“ So I will incite Egyptians against Egyptians; And they will fight, each against his brother and each against his neighbor, City against city and kingdom against kingdom.
