Then He began to tell the people this parable:“ A certain man planted a vineyard, leased it to vinedressers, and went into a far country for a long time.

And he leased it to vinedressers and went into a far country.Now when vintage-time drew near, he sent his servants to the vinedressers, that they might receive its fruit.And the vinedressers took his servants, beat one, killed one, and stoned another.Again he sent other servants, more than the first, and they did likewise to them.Then last of all he sent his son to them, saying,‘ They will respect my son.’But when the vinedressers saw the son, they said among themselves,‘ This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and seize his inheritance.’So they took him and cast him out of the vineyard and killed him.“ Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vinedressers?”They said to Him,“ He will destroy those wicked men miserably, and lease his vineyard to other vinedressers who will render to him the fruits in their seasons.”Jesus said to them,“ Have you never read in the Scriptures:‘ The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone. This was the Lord’s doing, And it is marvelous in our eyes’?“ Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it.And whoever falls on this stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder.”Now when the chief priests and Pharisees heard His parables, they perceived that He was speaking of them.But when they sought to lay hands on Him, they feared the multitudes, because they took Him for a prophet.

Then He began to speak to them in parables:“ A man planted a vineyard and set a hedge around it, dug a place for the wine vat and built a tower. And he leased it to vinedressers and went into a far country.Now at vintage-time he sent a servant to the vinedressers, that he might receive some of the fruit of the vineyard from the vinedressers.And they took him and beat him and sent him away empty-handed.Again he sent them another servant, and at him they threw stones, wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully treated.And again he sent another, and him they killed; and many others, beating some and killing some.Therefore still having one son, his beloved, he also sent him to them last, saying,‘ They will respect my son.’But those vinedressers said among themselves,‘ This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’So they took him and killed him and cast him out of the vineyard.“ Therefore what will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the vinedressers, and give the vineyard to others.Have you not even read this Scripture:‘ The stone which the builders rejectedHas become the chief cornerstone.This was the Lord’s doing, And it is marvelous in our eyes’?”And they sought to lay hands on Him, but feared the multitude, for they knew He had spoken the parable against them. Now let me sing to my Well-beloved A song of my Beloved regarding His vineyard: My Well-beloved has a vineyard On a very fruitful hill.He dug it up and cleared out its stones, And planted it with the choicest vine. He built a tower in its midst, And also made a winepress in it; So He expected it to bring forth good grapes, But it brought forth wild grapes.“ And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, Judge, please, between Me and My vineyard.What more could have been done to My vineyard That I have not done in it? Why then, when I expected it to bring forth good grapes, Did it bring forth wild grapes?And now, please let Me tell you what I will do to My vineyard: I will take away its hedge, and it shall be burned; And break down its wall, and it shall be trampled down.I will lay it waste; It shall not be pruned or dug, But there shall come up briers and thorns. I will also command the clouds That they rain no rain on it.”For the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel, And the men of Judah are His pleasant plant. He looked for justice, but behold, oppression; For righteousness, but behold, a cry for help.

“ I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.“ I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

You have brought a vine out of Egypt; You have cast out the nations, and planted it.You prepared room for it, And caused it to take deep root, And it filled the land.The hills were covered with its shadow, And the mighty cedars with its boughs.She sent out her boughs to the Sea, And her branches to the River.Why have You broken down her hedges, So that all who pass by the way pluck her fruit?The boar out of the woods uproots it, And the wild beast of the field devours it.Return, we beseech You, O God of hosts; Look down from heaven and see, And visit this vine

Yet I had planted you a noble vine, a seed of highest quality. How then have you turned before Me Into the degenerate plant of an alien vine?

Solomon had a vineyard at Baal Hamon; He leased the vineyard to keepers; Everyone was to bring for its fruit A thousand silver coins.( TO SOLOMON): My own vineyard is before me. You, O Solomon, may have a thousand, And those who tend its fruit two hundred.

Therefore He said:“ A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return.

“ For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them.

I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor.For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building.

So I took the heads of your tribes, wise and knowledgeable men, and made them heads over you, leaders of thousands, leaders of hundreds, leaders of fifties, leaders of tens, and officers for your tribes.“ Then I commanded your judges at that time, saying,‘ Hear the cases between your brethren, and judge righteously between a man and his brother or the stranger who is with him.You shall not show partiality in judgment; you shall hear the small as well as the great; you shall not be afraid in any man’s presence, for the judgment is God’s. The case that is too hard for you, bring to me, and I will hear it.’And I commanded you at that time all the things which you should do.

“ If a matter arises which is too hard for you to judge, between degrees of guilt for bloodshed, between one judgment or another, or between one punishment or another, matters of controversy within your gates, then you shall arise and go up to the place which the Lord your God chooses.And you shall come to the priests, the Levites, and to the judge there in those days, and inquire of them; they shall pronounce upon you the sentence of judgment.You shall do according to the sentence which they pronounce upon you in that place which the Lord chooses. And you shall be careful to do according to all that they order you.According to the sentence of the law in which they instruct you, according to the judgment which they tell you, you shall do; you shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left from the sentence which they pronounce upon you.Now the man who acts presumptuously and will not heed the priest who stands to minister there before the Lord your God, or the judge, that man shall die. So you shall put away the evil from Israel.And all the people shall hear and fear, and no longer act presumptuously.“ When you come to the land which the Lord your God is giving you, and possess it and dwell in it, and say,‘ I will set a king over me like all the nations that are around me,’you shall surely set a king over you whom the Lord your God chooses; one from among your brethren you shall set as king over you; you may not set a foreigner over you, who is not your brother.

“ You shall appoint judges and officers in all your gates, which the Lord your God gives you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with just judgment.
