They do all their deeds to be seen by people, for they make their phylacteries wide and their tassels long.They love the place of honor at banquets and the best seats in the synagoguesand elaborate greetings in the marketplaces, and to have people call them‘ Rabbi.’

Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples,“ The experts in the law and the Pharisees sit on Moses’ seat.

Then he called the crowd to him and said,“ Listen and understand.

Then Jesus called the crowd, along with his disciples, and said to them,“ If anyone wants to become my follower, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.

In his teaching Jesus also said,“ Watch out for the experts in the law. They like walking around in long robes and elaborate greetings in the marketplaces,and the best seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets.
