Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question,saying,“ What do you think of the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said to him,“ Of David.”He said to them,“ How then does David in the Spirit call him Lord, saying,‘ The Lord said to my Lord, sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet?’“ If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?”

For a child is born to us. A son is given to us; and the government will be on his shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, on David’s throne, and on his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from that time on, even forever. The zeal of Yahweh of Armies will perform this.

I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify these things to you for the assemblies. I am the root and the offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”

then may my covenant also be broken with David my servant, that he won’t have a son to reign on his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.
