Jesus told her,“ I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?”

For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.

When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God.So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.

Although he was crucified in weakness, he now lives by the power of God. We, too, are weak, just as Christ was, but when we deal with you we will be alive with him and will have God’s power.

For we don’t live for ourselves or die for ourselves.If we live, it’s to honor the Lord. And if we die, it’s to honor the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.Christ died and rose again for this very purpose— to be Lord both of the living and of the dead.

“ That is why they stand in front of God’s throne and serve him day and night in his Temple. And he who sits on the throne will give them shelter.They will never again be hungry or thirsty; they will never be scorched by the heat of the sun.For the Lamb on the throne will be their Shepherd. He will lead them to springs of life giving water. And God will wipe every tear from their eyes.”

Lord, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing. You guard all that is mine.The land you have given me is a pleasant land. What a wonderful inheritance!I will bless the Lord who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me.I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety.For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your holy one to rot in the grave.You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.

And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said:“ I will live in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

I will fulfill my vows in the presence of those who worship you.The poor will eat and be satisfied. All who seek the Lord will praise him. Their hearts will rejoice with everlasting joy.

But now you are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God. Now you do those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life.For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

Soon the world will no longer see me, but you will see me. Since I live, you also will live.

Then the angel showed me a river with the water of life, clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb.

I live because of the living Father who sent me; in the same way, anyone who feeds on me will live because of me.

But they were looking for a better place, a heavenly homeland. That is why God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.
