Some of the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to Jesus with a question.

The Sadducees do not believe that people rise from the dead. Some of them came to Jesus with a question.

There came to him some Sadducees, those who deny that there is a resurrection,

Then Jesus was approached by some Sadducees— religious leaders who say there is no resurrection from the dead.

Some of the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came up and questioned him:

Now some Sadducees( who contend that there is no resurrection) came to him.

As they spoke to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came to them,being upset because they taught the people and proclaimed in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.

On that day Sadducees( those who say that there is no resurrection) came to him. They asked him,saying,“ Teacher, Moses said,‘ If a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up offspring for his brother.’Now there were with us seven brothers. The first married and died, and having no offspring left his wife to his brother.In the same way, the second also, and the third, to the seventh.After them all, the woman died.In the resurrection therefore, whose wife will she be of the seven? For they all had her.”But Jesus answered them,“ You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are like God’s angels in heaven.But concerning the resurrection of the dead, haven’t you read that which was spoken to you by God, saying,‘ I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?’ God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”When the multitudes heard it, they were astonished at his teaching.

Now if Christ is preached, that he has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?

Some Sadducees, who say that there is no resurrection, came to him. They asked him, saying,“ Teacher, Moses wrote to us,‘ If a man’s brother dies, and leaves a wife behind him, and leaves no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up offspring for his brother.’There were seven brothers. The first took a wife, and dying left no offspring.The second took her, and died, leaving no children behind him. The third likewise;and the seven took her and left no children. Last of all the woman also died.In the resurrection, when they rise, whose wife will she be of them? For the seven had her as a wife.”Jesus answered them,“ Isn’t this because you are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God?For when they will rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.But about the dead, that they are raised; haven’t you read in the book of Moses, about the Bush, how God spoke to him, saying,‘ I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’?He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are therefore badly mistaken.”

The Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing him, asked him to show them a sign from heaven.

But the high priest rose up, and all those who were with him( which is the sect of the Sadducees), and they were filled with jealousy

But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council,“ Men and brothers, I am a Pharisee, a son of Pharisees. Concerning the hope and resurrection of the dead I am being judged!”When he had said this, an argument arose between the Pharisees and Sadducees, and the crowd was divided.For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, nor angel, nor spirit; but the Pharisees confess all of these.

Jesus said to them,“ Take heed and beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”

Then they understood that he didn’t tell them to beware of the yeast of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

and those words will consume like gangrene, of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus:men who have erred concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection is already past, and overthrowing the faith of some.
