But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? (niv)

The Pharisees and Sadducees came to Jesus and tested him by asking him to show them a sign from heaven. (niv)

Then the high priest and all his associates, who were members of the party of the Sadducees, were filled with jealousy. (niv)

Then Paul, knowing that some of them were Sadducees and the others Pharisees, called out in the Sanhedrin,“ My brothers, I am a Pharisee, descended from Pharisees. I stand on trial because of the hope of the resurrection of the dead.”When he said this, a dispute broke out between the Pharisees and the Sadducees, and the assembly was divided.( The Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, and that there are neither angels nor spirits, but the Pharisees believe all these things.) “ Be careful,” Jesus said to them.“ Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” (niv)

Their teaching will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus,who have departed from the truth. They say that the resurrection has already taken place, and they destroy the faith of some. (niv)
