於是，他們密切注意，派了一些奸細裝做好人，要抓耶穌的話柄，好把他交在總督的管理和權柄之下。

就對他說：『朋友，你進到這裡來怎麼沒有穿婚宴的禮服呢？』那個人啞口無言。

我們知道，律法上的一切話都是對律法之下的人講的，好堵住每個人的口，使全世界的人都在神的審判之下有罪，

不要照著愚昧人的愚妄回應他，免得你也像他一樣。要照著愚昧人的愚妄回應他，免得他自以為有智慧。

因為實在有許多不服從的、講虛妄話的、欺騙人的，尤其是那些屬於割禮派的人；

耶穌說了這些話，所有反對他的人都感到蒙羞，可是眾人都因他所行的一切榮耀的事而感到歡喜。

他們聽了，感到驚奇，就離開耶穌走了。

有一些經文士應聲說：「老師，你說得好。」從此他們再也不敢質問他什麼了。

法利賽人聽說耶穌使撒都該人啞口無言，就聚集在一起。
