He said to them,“ Then give back to Caesar what belongs to Caesar. And give back to God what belongs to God.”

He said to them,“ Then give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.”

He said to them,“ Then render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”

“ Well then,” he said,“ give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and give to God what belongs to God.”

“ Well then,” he told them,“ give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”

And He said to them,“ Then pay to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”

And He said to them,“ Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”

And he said unto them, Then render unto Cæsar the things that are Cæsar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s.

“ Well then,” He told them,“ give back to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and to God the things that are God’s.”

And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar’s, and unto God the things which be God’s.

So he said to them,“ Then give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”

He said to them,“ Then give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”

That’s also why you pay taxes. The authorities serve God. Ruling takes up all their time.Give to everyone what you owe them. Do you owe taxes? Then pay them. Do you owe anything else to the government? Then pay it. Do you owe respect? Then give it. Do you owe honor? Then show it.

“ Caesar’s,” they replied. Then he said to them,“ So give back to Caesar what belongs to Caesar. And give back to God what belongs to God.”

But Peter and John replied,“ Which is right from God’s point of view? Should we listen to you? Or should we listen to God? You be the judges!There’s nothing else we can do. We have to speak about the things we’ve seen and heard.”

“ But we don’t want to make them angry. So go to the lake and throw out your fishing line. Take the first fish you catch. Open its mouth. There you will find the exact coin you need. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours.”

Follow the lead of every human authority. Do this for the Lord’s sake. Obey the emperor. He is the highest authority.Obey the governors. The emperor sends them to punish those who do wrong. He also sends them to praise those who do right.By doing good you will put a stop to the talk of foolish people. They don’t know what they are saying.Live as free people. But don’t use your freedom to cover up evil. Live as people who are God’s slaves.Show proper respect to everyone. Love the family of believers. Have respect for God. Honor the emperor.

Then Jesus said to them,“ Give back to Caesar what belongs to Caesar. And give back to God what belongs to God.” They were amazed at him.

So eat and drink and do everything else for the glory of God.

Peter and the other apostles replied,“ We must obey God instead of people!

My son, have respect for the Lord and the king. Don’t join with officials who disobey them.

If anyone speaks, they should do it as one speaking God’s words. If anyone serves, they should do it with the strength God provides. Then in all things God will be praised through Jesus Christ. Glory and power belong to him for ever and ever. Amen.
