他们在民众面前抓不到耶稣的话柄，又对他的答复感到惊奇，就哑口无言了。

恨耶和华的人将向他卑躬屈膝，愿他们受罚的日子直到永远。

他们把耶稣从该亚法那里带到总督府，那时是清晨。他们为了不被污秽，能吃逾越节的晚餐，就没有进入总督府。于是彼拉多出来，到他们那里，说：“你们提出什么来控告这个人？”他们回答说：“这个人如果不是作恶的，我们就不会把他交给你了。”彼拉多对他们说：“你们自己把他带走，按照你们的律法审判他吧。”那些犹太人回答说：“我们不可以处死人。”这是为要应验耶稣说过的话，就是他指明自己将要怎样死的那些话。

他们因着贪心，会用捏造的话利用你们。对他们的惩罚，从太古的时候就没有失效，他们的灭亡也不耽延。

暗中等机会，要从他的口中抓住把柄。

后来，他们派了一些法利赛人和希律党的人到耶稣那里，要找话柄来陷害他。那些人来对耶稣说：“老师，我们知道你是真诚的。你不顾忌任何人，因为你不看人的情面，而是按真理教导神的道。请问，向凯撒纳税，可以不可以呢？我们该交还是不该交呢？”耶稣看出他们的假意，就对他们说：“你们为什么试探我呢？拿一个银币来给我看。”他们就拿来了。耶稣问他们：“这是谁的像和名号？”他们回答说：“是凯撒的。”耶稣对他们说：“凯撒的归给凯撒；神的归给神。”这使他们感到惊奇。

恶人窥伺义人，寻机置他于死地；但耶和华必不将他离弃在恶人的手中；在审判的时候，也不定他有罪。

有些人就密切注意耶稣会不会在安息日使那个人痊愈，这是为要控告耶稣。

当对神说：“你的作为多么可畏！因你强大的能力，你的仇敌向你卑躬屈膝。

因为强横者必归于无有，讥讽者必灭绝，所有伺机做坏事的都必被剪除。他们凭一句话就定人的罪，给城门口的裁决者设下网罗，又用虚无的事屈枉义人。

那些寻索我命的设下圈套，那些寻机加害我的口吐威吓，他们终日思想诡计。
