『請示吾儕、爾憑何權行此一切？且孰授爾以斯權耶？』

“ Tell us by what authority you are doing these things,” they said.“ Who gave you this authority?”

“ Tell us by what authority you are doing these things,” they all said.“ Who gave you this authority?”

and said to him,“ Tell us by what authority you do these things, or who it is that gave you this authority.”

They demanded,“ By what authority are you doing all these things? Who gave you the right?”

and said to him,“ Tell us, by what authority are you doing these things? Who is it who gave you this authority?”

and they declared, saying to Him,“ Tell us by what authority You are doing these things, or who is the one who gave You this authority?”

and spoke to Him, saying,“ Tell us, by what authority are You doing these things? Or who is he who gave You this authority?”

and they spake, saying unto him, Tell us: By what authority doest thou these things? or who is he that gave thee this authority?

and said to Him:“ Tell us, by what authority are You doing these things? Who is it who gave You this authority?”

And spake unto him, saying, Tell us, by what authority doest thou these things? or who is he that gave thee this authority?

They asked him,“ Tell us: by what authority do you do these things? Or who is giving you this authority?”

So then the Jewish leaders responded,“ What sign can you show us, since you are doing these things?”

Now after Jesus entered the temple courts, the chief priests and elders of the people came up to him as he was teaching and said,“ By what authority are you doing these things, and who gave you this authority?”Jesus answered them,“ I will also ask you one question. If you answer me then I will also tell you by what authority I do these things.Where did John’s baptism come from? From heaven or from people?” They discussed this among themselves, saying,“ If we say,‘ From heaven,’ he will say,‘ Then why did you not believe him?’But if we say,‘ From people,’ we fear the crowd, for they all consider John to be a prophet.”So they answered Jesus,“ We don’t know.” Then he said to them,“ Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.

and said,“ By what authority are you doing these things? Or who gave you this authority to do these things?”Jesus said to them,“ I will ask you one question. Answer me and I will tell you by what authority I do these things:John’s baptism– was it from heaven or from people? Answer me.”They discussed with one another, saying,“ If we say,‘ From heaven,’ he will say,‘ Then why did you not believe him?’But if we say,‘ From people–’”( they feared the crowd, for they all considered John to be truly a prophet).So they answered Jesus,“ We don’t know.” Then Jesus said to them,“ Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.”

But the man who was unfairly hurting his neighbor pushed Moses aside, saying,‘ Who made you a ruler and judge over us?

The man replied,“ Who made you a ruler and a judge over us? Are you planning to kill me like you killed that Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid, thinking,“ Surely what I did has become known.”

After making Peter and John stand in their midst, they began to inquire,“ By what power or by what name did you do this?”Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, replied,“ Rulers of the people and elders,if we are being examined today for a good deed done to a sick man– by what means this man was healed–let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, this man stands before you healthy.

“ You stubborn people, with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are always resisting the Holy Spirit, like your ancestors did!

Furthermore, the Father does not judge anyone, but has assigned all judgment to the Son,so that all people will honor the Son just as they honor the Father. The one who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.“ I tell you the solemn truth, the one who hears my message and believes the one who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned, but has crossed over from death to life.I tell you the solemn truth, a time is coming– and is now here– when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.For just as the Father has life in himself, thus he has granted the Son to have life in himself,and he has granted the Son authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of Man.

This same Moses they had rejected, saying,‘ Who made you a ruler and judge?’ God sent as both ruler and deliverer through the hand of the angel who appeared to him in the bush.This man led them out, performing wonders and miraculous signs in the land of Egypt, at the Red Sea, and in the wilderness for forty years.This is the Moses who said to the Israelites,‘ God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers.’This is the man who was in the congregation in the wilderness with the angel who spoke to him at Mount Sinai, and with our ancestors, and he received living oracles to give to you.Our ancestors were unwilling to obey him, but pushed him aside and turned back to Egypt in their hearts,

Then they brought it to Jesus, threw their cloaks on the colt, and had Jesus get on it.As he rode along, they spread their cloaks on the road.As he approached the road leading down from the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen:“ Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”But some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him,“ Teacher, rebuke your disciples.”He answered,“ I tell you, if they keep silent, the very stones will cry out!”

Then Jesus entered the temple courts and began to drive out those who were selling things there,saying to them,“ It is written,‘ My house will be a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of robbers!”
