保罗和巴拿巴却放胆说：“神的道，先讲给你们听，是应该的。但因为你们弃绝这道，断定自己不配得永生，所以我们现在就转向外族人去了。

你的手要搜出你所有的仇敌，你的右手必搜出那些恨你的人。你出现的时候，就要使他们像炽热的火炉；耶和华必在他的震怒中吞灭他们，火必烧灭他们。你必从地上除灭他们的子孙，从人间除灭他们的后裔。

王就发怒，派兵消灭那些凶手，焚毁他们的城。

你求我，我就把列国赐给你作产业，把全地都归属于你。你必用铁杖击打他们，好像打碎陶器一样粉碎他们。’”

我们今天竟成了奴仆！就是在你赐给我们列祖享用其上果实和美物之地，我们竟在这地上作了奴仆！这地丰富的出产都归给列王，就是你因我们的罪派来管辖我们的；他们也随意管辖我们的身体和我们的牲畜；我们遭遇大患难。
