但有一個法利賽人，名叫迦瑪列，是眾百姓所敬重的教法師，在公會中站起來，吩咐人把使徒暫且帶到外面去，

約拿三日三夜在大魚肚腹中，人子也要這樣三日三夜在地裏頭。

主耶和華賜我受教者的舌頭，使我知道怎樣用言語扶助疲乏的人。主每早晨提醒，提醒我的耳朵，使我能聽，像受教者一樣。

羅波安對他們說：「你們暫且去，第三日再來見我。」民就去了。

耶羅波安和眾百姓遵着羅波安王所說「你們第三日再來見我」的那話，第三日他們果然來了。

「大人，我們記得那誘惑人的還活着的時候曾說：『三日後我要復活。』因此，請吩咐人將墳墓把守妥當，直到第三日，恐怕他的門徒來，把他偷了去，就告訴百姓說：『他從死裏復活了。』這樣，那後來的迷惑比先前的更利害了！」

從此，耶穌才指示門徒，他必須上耶路撒冷去，受長老、祭司長、文士許多的苦，並且被殺，第三日復活。

以為他在同行的人中間，走了一天的路程，就在親族和熟識的人中找他，既找不着，就回耶路撒冷去找他。
