但有一個法利賽人，名叫迦瑪列，是民眾所尊敬的律法教師。他在公議會中站起來，吩咐人把使徒暫時帶出去，

約拿怎樣三日三夜在大魚的腹中，人子也要照樣三日三夜在地裡。

主耶和華賜給了我一個受教者的舌頭，使我知道怎樣用言語扶助疲乏的人；主每天清晨喚醒我，他每天清晨喚醒我的耳朵，使我能像受教者一樣靜聽。

羅波安回答他們：“你們暫時回去，三天以後再來見我。”眾民就離開了。

耶羅波安和眾民，照王所說“三天以後再來見我”的那話，第三天來見羅波安。

“大人，我們想起那個騙子，生前說過：‘三天之後，我要復活。’所以請你下令把墳墓嚴密看守，直到第三天，免得他的門徒來把他偷去，然後對民眾說：‘他從死人中復活了。’這樣，日後的騙局比起初的就更大了。”

從那時起，耶穌開始向門徒指出，他必須往耶路撒冷去，受長老、祭司長和經學家許多的苦害，並且被殺，第三天復活。

還以為他在同行的人中間。走了一天，就在親戚和熟人中找他，沒有找到，就轉回耶路撒冷找他。
