有一天，耶稣在教导人，旁边坐着来自加利利、犹太和耶路撒冷各地的法利赛人和律法教师，主的能力伴随着耶稣，使祂能医治病人。

公会中有一位名叫迦玛列的法利赛人，是个德高望重的律法教师。他站起来，叫人把使徒暂且押到外面，

约拿在大鱼腹中三日三夜，人子也要在地里三日三夜。

主耶和华赐我教导的能力，使我知道用什么话帮助疲乏的人。每天早晨，主唤醒我，叫我像受教者那样侧耳聆听。

罗波安对他们说：“你们先回去，三天之后再来见我。”众人就离开了。

过了三天，耶罗波安和民众遵照罗波安王的话来见他。

“总督大人，我们记得那个骗子生前曾说，‘三天之后，我必复活。’所以请你命人看守坟墓三天，以防祂的门徒偷走祂的尸体，然后对百姓说祂已经从死里复活。这样的迷惑会比以前的更厉害！”

从此以后，耶稣开始清楚地指示门徒，祂必须去耶路撒冷，受长老、祭司长和律法教师许多的迫害，并且被处死，但第三天必从死里复活。

还以为祂跟在同行的人中间。他们走了一天的路后，才开始在亲戚朋友中找祂，结果没有找到，只好回到耶路撒冷。
