Simeon took Jesus in his arms and praised God. He said,

Immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue set free, and he began to speak, praising God.

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,“ Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

“ Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come to his people and redeemed them.

And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.

Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done.Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.

And Mary said:“ My soul glorifies the Lord

Rejoice in the Lord and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart!Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him.

He took a little child whom he placed among them. Taking the child in his arms, he said to them,

All you Israelites, praise the Lord; house of Aaron, praise the Lord;house of Levi, praise the Lord; you who fear him, praise the Lord.
