Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him.

二人居仁由義、昭事天主、遵行誡命、靡有愆忒、

至是亦趨前讚主、並對都中盼望救贖之人、講述此子。

貴顯議士若瑟、亞別瑪德人、素慕天主國者、毅然入謁比辣多、求耶穌遺體。

蓋天主普救之恩、已昌明於世、廣被有眾。吾人既受其教、自應痛絕邪妄之人欲。立身處世、寧靜淡泊、孳孳為善、翼翼事主、翹足企首、仰望真福、與夫大主宰及吾救主耶穌基督之光臨。基督為吾人自舍其身、正欲拯贖吾人、脫免一切罪惡、加以洗滌、俾得充其子民、發憤為善云耳。

依氏一聆瑪莉雅問安之聲、其胎嬰即喜悅踴躍；聖神充其靈、

眾所圖謀、未嘗附和、

對曰：『巴總高乃流、正人也、敬畏上主、為猶太舉國之所稱道、近蒙聖天神指示、邀汝至其家、俾聆汝教。』

予之所以發奮自勉、務求心地光明、對主對人、無所愧怍者、正為此耳。

為人虔誠、舉家敬畏天主、平素博施濟眾、祈禱不輟。

蓋歷來豫言、本非出人私智、乃古人感於聖神、而為天主之舌人耳。

厥父沙加理滿充聖神而作預言曰：
