眾人看見，都唧唧咕咕地彼此議論說，『「罪人」家裏、他還進去投宿呢！』

大家看見，就抱怨說：「他竟然到一個罪人家裡去借宿。」

眾見之、訾議曰、彼往寓罪人之家矣、

眾非耶穌曰、何為宿罪人之家、

眾見此不悅、曰、彼往宿罪人之家矣、

眾見而非議曰：『彼竟投宿罪人家耶！』

All the people saw this and began to mutter,“ He has gone to be the guest of a sinner.”

All the people saw this. They began to whisper among themselves. They said,“ Jesus has gone to be the guest of a sinner.”

And when they saw it, they all grumbled,“ He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.”

But the people were displeased.“ He has gone to be the guest of a notorious sinner,” they grumbled.

All who saw it began to complain,“ He’s gone to stay with a sinful man.”

When the people saw this, they all began to complain, saying,“ He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner!”

But when they saw it, they all complained, saying,“ He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner.”

And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, He is gone in to lodge with a man that is a sinner.

All who saw it began to complain,“ He’s gone to lodge with a sinful man!”

Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw it, he said to himself,“ This man, if he were a prophet, would have perceived who and what kind of woman this is who touches him, that she is a sinner.”

The Pharisees and the scribes murmured, saying,“ This man welcomes sinners, and eats with them.”

The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say,‘ Behold, a gluttonous man, and a drunkard; a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’

Their scribes and the Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying,“ Why do you eat and drink with the tax collectors and sinners?”

When the Pharisees saw it, they said to his disciples,“ Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

He spoke also this parable to certain people who were convinced of their own righteousness, and who despised all others.“ Two men went up into the temple to pray; one was a Pharisee, and the other was a tax collector.The Pharisee stood and prayed to himself like this:‘ God, I thank you that I am not like the rest of men, extortionists, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.I fast twice a week. I give tithes of all that I get.’But the tax collector, standing far away, wouldn’t even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying,‘ God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first, and said,‘ Son, go work today in my vineyard.’He answered,‘ I will not,’ but afterward he changed his mind, and went.He came to the second, and said the same thing. He answered,‘ I’m going, sir,’ but he didn’t go.Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said to him,“ The first.” Jesus said to them,“ Most certainly I tell you that the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering into God’s Kingdom before you.
