眾人看見，都唧唧咕咕地彼此議論說，『「罪人」家裏、他還進去投宿呢！』

大家看見，就抱怨說：「他竟然到一個罪人家裡去借宿。」

眾見之、訾議曰、彼往寓罪人之家矣、

眾非耶穌曰、何為宿罪人之家、

眾見此不悅、曰、彼往宿罪人之家矣、

眾見而非議曰：『彼竟投宿罪人家耶！』

All the people saw this and began to mutter,“ He has gone to be the guest of a sinner.”

All the people saw this. They began to whisper among themselves. They said,“ Jesus has gone to be the guest of a sinner.”

And when they saw it, they all grumbled,“ He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.”

But the people were displeased.“ He has gone to be the guest of a notorious sinner,” they grumbled.

All who saw it began to complain,“ He’s gone to stay with a sinful man.”

When the people saw this, they all began to complain, saying,“ He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner!”

But when they saw it, they all complained, saying,“ He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner.”

And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, He is gone in to lodge with a man that is a sinner.

All who saw it began to complain,“ He’s gone to lodge with a sinful man!”

Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw[ it], he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman[ this is] that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.

The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!

And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men[ are], extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as[ his] eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.I tell you, this man went down to his house justified[ rather] than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

But what think ye? A[ certain] man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I[ go], sir: and went not.Whether of them twain did the will of[ his] father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.
