A Samaritan woman came to draw water. Jesus said to her,“ Give me some water to drink.”( For his disciples had gone off into the town to buy supplies.)So the Samaritan woman said to him,“ How can you– a Jew– ask me, a Samaritan woman, for water to drink?”( For Jews use nothing in common with Samaritans.)Jesus answered her,“ If you had known the gift of God and who it is who said to you,‘ Give me some water to drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.”

The two angels came to Sodom in the evening while Lot was sitting in the city’s gateway. When Lot saw them, he got up to meet them and bowed down with his face toward the ground.He said,“ Here, my lords, please turn aside to your servant’s house. Stay the night and wash your feet. Then you can be on your way early in the morning.”“ No,” they replied,“ we’ll spend the night in the town square.”But he urged them persistently, so they turned aside with him and entered his house. He prepared a feast for them, including bread baked without yeast, and they ate.

He said,“ My lord, if I have found favor in your sight, do not pass by and leave your servant.Let a little water be brought so that you may all wash your feet and rest under the tree.And let me get a bit of food so that you may refresh yourselves since you have passed by your servant’s home. After that you may be on your way.”“ All right,” they replied,“ you may do as you say.”

O LORD, you examine me and know.You know when I sit down and when I get up; even from far away you understand my motives.You carefully observe me when I travel or when I lie down to rest; you are aware of everything I do.

Do not neglect hospitality, because through it some have entertained angels without knowing it.

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, so that, because you have been rooted and grounded in love,

Now because we are fellow workers, we also urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain.

Whatever you find to do with your hands, do it with all your might, because there is neither work nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom in the grave, the place where you will eventually go.

I will walk in the way of integrity. When will you come to me? I will conduct my business with integrity in the midst of my palace.I will not even consider doing what is dishonest. I hate doing evil; I will have no part of it.
