A woman of Samaria came to draw water.“ Give me a drink,” Jesus said to her,because his disciples had gone into town to buy food.“ How is it that you, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” she asked him. For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.Jesus answered,“ If you knew the gift of God, and who is saying to you,‘ Give me a drink,’ you would ask him, and he would give you living water.”

The two angels entered Sodom in the evening as Lot was sitting in Sodom’s gateway. When Lot saw them, he got up to meet them. He bowed with his face to the groundand said,“ My lords, turn aside to your servant’s house, wash your feet, and spend the night. Then you can get up early and go on your way.”“ No,” they said.“ We would rather spend the night in the square.”But he urged them so strongly that they followed him and went into his house. He prepared a feast and baked unleavened bread for them, and they ate.

and said,“ My lord, if I have found favor with you, please do not go on past your servant.Let a little water be brought, that you may wash your feet and rest yourselves under the tree.I will bring a bit of bread so that you may strengthen yourselves. This is why you have passed your servant’s way. Later, you can continue on.”“ Yes,” they replied,“ do as you have said.”

LORD, you have searched me and known me.You know when I sit down and when I stand up; you understand my thoughts from far away.You observe my travels and my rest; you are aware of all my ways.

Don’t neglect to show hospitality, for by doing this some have welcomed angels as guests without knowing it.

For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save the lost.”

and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. I pray that you, being rooted and firmly established in love,

Working together with him, we also appeal to you,“ Don’t receive the grace of God in vain.”

Whatever your hands find to do, do with all your strength, because there is no work, planning, knowledge, or wisdom in Sheol where you are going.

I will pay attention to the way of integrity. When will you come to me? I will live with a heart of integrity in my house.I will not let anything worthless guide me. I hate the practice of transgression; it will not cling to me.
