拿但業問他：“你怎麼認識我呢？”耶穌回答：“腓力還沒有招呼你，你在無花果樹下的時候，我就看見你了。”

“‘但我從你身旁經過，見你在血中掙扎。那時，你躺在血中，我對你說：要活下去（《馬索拉文本》重複一遍“那時，你躺在血中，我對你說：要活下去”，現參照其他抄本和古譯本翻譯）。

有一個撒瑪利亞婦人來打水。耶穌對她說：“請給我水喝。”那時，他的門徒都進城買食物去了。撒瑪利亞婦人對耶穌說：“你是猶太人，怎麼向我，一個撒瑪利亞婦人要水喝呢？”（原來猶太人和撒瑪利亞人不相往來。）耶穌回答她：“你若知道神的恩賜，和對你說‘請給我水喝’的是誰，你必早已求他，他也必早把活水賜給你了。”

黃昏的時候，那兩位天使到了所多瑪，當時羅得正坐在所多瑪的城門口。羅得一看見他們，就起來迎接他們，俯伏在地，說：“我主啊，請你們到僕人的家裡住一夜，洗洗你們的腳，清早起來再趕路。”他們回答：“不，我們要在街上過夜。”但由於羅得再三的請求，他們才肯跟他回去，進了他的家。羅得為他們預備了筵席，烤了無酵餅，他們就吃了。

說：“我主啊，我若在你眼前蒙恩，求你不要離開你的僕人。讓我叫人拿點水來，你們可以洗洗腳，然後在樹下歇一歇。讓我拿點餅來給你們吃，使你們可以恢復精力，然後再走，因為你們既然到了僕人這裡來，就應該這樣。”他們說：“就照著你所說的去作。”

耶和華啊！你鑒察了我，你認識我。（本節在《馬索拉文本》包括細字標題）我坐下，我起來，你都知道；你在遠處就明白我的意念。我行路，我躺臥，你都細察；我的一切行為，你都熟悉。

不要忘了用愛心接待人，有人就是這樣作，在無意中就款待了天使。

因為人子來，是要尋找拯救失喪的人。”

使基督藉著你們的信，住在你們心裡，使你們既然在愛中扎根建基，

我們這些與神同工的，也勸你們不要白受神的恩典。

凡是你手可作的，都當盡力去作；因為在你所要去的陰間裡，既沒有工作，又沒有籌謀；沒有知識，也沒有智慧。

我要小心謹慎行正直的路；你甚麼時候才到我這裡來呢？我要在我的家中，以正直的心行事。邪惡的事，我都不擺在眼前；離開正路的人所作的事，我都恨惡，決不容這些沾染我。
