顧語眾曰：『爾手刃持梃、捕予一如捕盜。予曩者日坐殿中施訓於爾、何不執之？

司祭長經生聞言、謀誅耶穌；惟以眾佩其道、有所顧慮。

耶穌復進耶路撒冷、行聖殿中。司祭長經生長老進而問曰：『爾憑何權為此種切？且孰授爾以此權耶？』耶穌曰：『予亦欲問爾、爾如答我、則予當告爾何權行此：如望之洗、自天乎？抑自人乎？請答。』若輩竊議曰：『如云自天、必曰何不信之。若謂自人、眾又可畏、蓋眾皆確認如望為先知也。』乃答不知。耶穌曰：『則吾亦不願告爾憑何權而行此矣。』

耶穌晝在殿中施訓、夜則出宿忠果山中、眾民夙興、登殿聆訓。

時去免難節兼除酵節、僅二日矣。大司祭及經生共謀所以執耶穌而置之死地；

耶穌對曰：『予向公開言論、施訓會堂聖殿中、此皆猶太人會集之所、未嘗言之於隱、

斯時、司祭長及民間耆老、方群集於大司祭該法院中思以詭謀曲陷耶穌、而置之於死；

且摩西不曾授爾以法乎？而爾中竟無一人守法也。

若輩知此喻射己、欲起而捕之、惟心畏群眾、遂離去。

至是若輩又欲執之；耶穌脫手避去、

間有欲執之而下手無人。

自此、若輩處心積慮、共謀所以殺耶穌。耶穌亦不復公然行於猶太人中、乃退至郊野之地；入一鎮、名以法蓮、偕門徒居焉。會猶太人之免難節將屆、節前多有自鄉間上耶路撒冷者、先行取潔、皆覓耶穌、群立殿中、而相語曰：『爾謂彼將不來度節乎？』惟司祭長及法利塞人已曉諭諸民、如有知耶穌所在者、即當稟報、以便逮捕。

予亦知爾為亞伯漢之子孫、顧爾仍欲置予於死、以爾心中不容吾道故。凡予所言、乃所見於吾父者；凡爾所行、乃所見於爾父者也。』彼等應曰：『吾父亞伯漢也。』耶穌曰：『苟為亞伯漢之後、則應為亞伯漢之所為矣。今予語爾以所聞於天主之真理、而爾欲置予於死、此固亞伯漢之所不為也、

耶穌入殿、方施訓、司祭長與民間耆老前來問曰：『汝憑何權而行此諸事、且孰授汝以此權耶？』
