When he reached the place where the road started down the Mount of Olives, all of his followers began to shout and sing as they walked along, praising God for all the wonderful miracles they had seen.

And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately,

Then sang Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam on that day, saying,Praise ye the LORD for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves.Hear, O ye kings; give ear, O ye princes; I,[ even] I, will sing unto the LORD; I will sing[ praise] to the LORD God of Israel.LORD, when thou wentest out of Seir, when thou marchedst out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heavens dropped, the clouds also dropped water.The mountains melted from before the LORD,[ even] that Sinai from before the LORD God of Israel.In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied, and the travellers walked through byways.[ The inhabitants of] the villages ceased, they ceased in Israel, until that I Deborah arose, that I arose a mother in Israel.They chose new gods; then[ was] war in the gates: was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel?My heart[ is] toward the governors of Israel, that offered themselves willingly among the people. Asher continued on the sea shore, and abode in his breaches.Zebulun and Naphtali[ were] a people[ that] jeoparded their lives unto the death in the high places of the field.The kings came[ and] fought, then fought the kings of Canaan in Taanach by the waters of Megiddo; they took no gain of money.They fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought against Sisera.The river of Kishon swept them away, that ancient river, the river Kishon. O my soul, thou hast trodden down strength.Then were the horsehoofs broken by the means of the pransings, the pransings of their mighty ones.Curse ye Meroz, said the angel of the LORD, curse ye bitterly the inhabitants thereof; because they came not to the help of the LORD, to the help of the LORD against the mighty.Blessed above women shall Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite be, blessed shall she be above women in the tent.He asked water,[ and] she gave[ him] milk; she brought forth butter in a lordly dish.She put her hand to the nail, and her right hand to the workmen’s hammer; and with the hammer she smote Sisera, she smote off his head, when she had pierced and stricken through his temples.At her feet he bowed, he fell, he lay down: at her feet he bowed, he fell: where he bowed, there he fell down dead.The mother of Sisera looked out at a window, and cried through the lattice, Why is his chariot[ so] long in coming? why tarry the wheels of his chariots?Her wise ladies answered her, yea, she returned answer to herself,Have they not sped? have they[ not] divided the prey; to every man a damsel[ or] two; to Sisera a prey of divers colours, a prey of divers colours of needlework, of divers colours of needlework on both sides,[ meet] for the necks of[ them that take] the spoil?So let all thine enemies perish, O LORD: but[ let] them that love him[ be] as the sun when he goeth forth in his might. And the land had rest forty years.

On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed[ is] the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.

And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,

And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.

And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw[ it], gave praise unto God.

And he appointed[ certain] of the Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD, and to record, and to thank and praise the LORD God of Israel:Asaph the chief, and next to him Zechariah, Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obededom: and Jeiel with psalteries and with harps; but Asaph made a sound with cymbals;Benaiah also and Jahaziel the priests with trumpets continually before the ark of the covenant of God.Then on that day David delivered first[ this psalm] to thank the LORD into the hand of Asaph and his brethren.

And he stood, and blessed all the congregation of Israel with a loud voice, saying,Blessed[ be] the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.

And all the congregation worshipped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded:[ and] all[ this continued] until the burnt offering was finished.And when they had made an end of offering, the king and all that were present with him bowed themselves, and worshipped.Moreover Hezekiah the king and the princes commanded the Levites to sing praise unto the LORD with the words of David, and of Asaph the seer. And they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshipped.

And David arose, and went with all the people that[ were] with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of the LORD of hosts that dwelleth[ between] the cherubims.And they set the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that[ was] in Gibeah: and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drave the new cart.And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab which[ was] at Gibeah, accompanying the ark of God: and Ahio went before the ark.And David and all the house of Israel played before the LORD on all manner of[ instruments made of] fir wood, even on harps, and on psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals.And when they came to Nachon’s threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth[ his hand] to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook[ it].

Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.The LORD[ is] my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he[ is] my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.The LORD[ is] a man of war: the LORD[ is] his name.Pharaoh’s chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea.The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone.Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.And in the greatness of thine excellency thou hast overthrown them that rose up against thee: thou sentest forth thy wrath,[ which] consumed them as stubble.And with the blast of thy nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as an heap,[ and] the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea.The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.Thou didst blow with thy wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters.Who[ is] like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who[ is] like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful[ in] praises, doing wonders?Thou stretchedst out thy right hand, the earth swallowed them.Thou in thy mercy hast led forth the people[ which] thou hast redeemed: thou hast guided[ them] in thy strength unto thy holy habitation.The people shall hear,[ and] be afraid: sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina.Then the dukes of Edom shall be amazed; the mighty men of Moab, trembling shall take hold upon them; all the inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away.Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thine arm they shall be[ as] still as a stone; till thy people pass over, O LORD, till the people pass over,[ which] thou hast purchased.Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance,[ in] the place, O LORD,[ which] thou hast made for thee to dwell in,[ in] the Sanctuary, O Lord,[ which] thy hands have established.The LORD shall reign for ever and ever.

And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, they set the priests in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise the LORD, after the ordinance of David king of Israel.And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto the LORD; because[ he is] good, for his mercy[ endureth] for ever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.But many of the priests and Levites and chief of the fathers,[ who were] ancient men, that had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice; and many shouted aloud for joy:So that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people: for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard afar off.

Then believed they his words; they sang his praise.They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:

And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.

Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with shouting, and with sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, making a noise with psalteries and harps.

And Hezekiah rejoiced, and all the people, that God had prepared the people: for the thing was[ done] suddenly.

And another came, saying, Lord, behold,[ here is] thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin:
