Why tarry the hoofbeats of his chariots?’Her wisest princesses answer, indeed, she answers herself,‘ Have they not found and divided the spoil?— A womb or two for every man; spoil of dyed materials for Sisera, spoil of dyed materials embroidered, two pieces of dyed work embroidered for the neck as spoil?’“ So may all your enemies perish, O Lord! But your friends be like the sun as he rises in his might.” And the land had rest for forty years.

The next day the large crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem.So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out,“ Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!”

Now when they drew near to Jerusalem and came to Bethphage, to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,

Fear seized them all, and they glorified God, saying,“ A great prophet has arisen among us!” and“ God has visited his people!”

And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.

Then he appointed some of the Levites as ministers before the ark of the Lord, to invoke, to thank, and to praise the Lord, the God of Israel.Asaph was the chief, and second to him were Zechariah, Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-edom, and Jeiel, who were to play harps and lyres; Asaph was to sound the cymbals,and Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests were to blow trumpets regularly before the ark of the covenant of God.Then on that day David first appointed that thanksgiving be sung to the Lord by Asaph and his brothers.

And he stood and blessed all the assembly of Israel with a loud voice, saying,“ Blessed be the Lord who has given rest to his people Israel, according to all that he promised. Not one word has failed of all his good promise, which he spoke by Moses his servant.

The whole assembly worshiped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded. All this continued until the burnt offering was finished.When the offering was finished, the king and all who were present with him bowed themselves and worshiped.And Hezekiah the king and the officials commanded the Levites to sing praises to the Lord with the words of David and of Asaph the seer. And they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed down and worshiped.

And David arose and went with all the people who were with him from Baale-judah to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the name of the Lord of hosts who sits enthroned on the cherubim.And they carried the ark of God on a new cart and brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill. And Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, were driving the new cart,with the ark of God, and Ahio went before the ark.And David and all the house of Israel were celebrating before the Lord, with songs and lyres and harps and tambourines and castanets and cymbals.And when they came to the threshing floor of Nacon, Uzzah put out his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled.

Then Moses and the people of Israel sang this song to the Lord, saying,“ I will sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.The Lord is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.The Lord is a man of war; the Lord is his name.“ Pharaoh’s chariots and his host he cast into the sea, and his chosen officers were sunk in the Red Sea.The floods covered them; they went down into the depths like a stone.Your right hand, O Lord, glorious in power, your right hand, O Lord, shatters the enemy.In the greatness of your majesty you overthrow your adversaries; you send out your fury; it consumes them like stubble.At the blast of your nostrils the waters piled up; the floods stood up in a heap; the deeps congealed in the heart of the sea.The enemy said,‘ I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil, my desire shall have its fill of them. I will draw my sword; my hand shall destroy them.’You blew with your wind; the sea covered them; they sank like lead in the mighty waters.“ Who is like you, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in glorious deeds, doing wonders?You stretched out your right hand; the earth swallowed them.“ You have led in your steadfast love the people whom you have redeemed; you have guided them by your strength to your holy abode.The peoples have heard; they tremble; pangs have seized the inhabitants of Philistia.Now are the chiefs of Edom dismayed; trembling seizes the leaders of Moab; all the inhabitants of Canaan have melted away.Terror and dread fall upon them; because of the greatness of your arm, they are still as a stone, till your people, O Lord, pass by, till the people pass by whom you have purchased.You will bring them in and plant them on your own mountain, the place, O Lord, which you have made for your abode, the sanctuary, O Lord, which your hands have established.The Lord will reign forever and ever.”

And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the Lord, the priests in their vestments came forward with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise the Lord, according to the directions of David king of Israel.And they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the Lord,“ For he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever toward Israel.” And all the people shouted with a great shout when they praised the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.But many of the priests and Levites and heads of fathers’ houses, old men who had seen the first house, wept with a loud voice when they saw the foundation of this house being laid, though many shouted aloud for joy,so that the people could not distinguish the sound of the joyful shout from the sound of the people’s weeping, for the people shouted with a great shout, and the sound was heard far away.

Then they believed his words; they sang his praise.But they soon forgot his works; they did not wait for his counsel.

And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

So all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the Lord with shouting, to the sound of the horn, trumpets, and cymbals, and made loud music on harps and lyres.

And Hezekiah and all the people rejoiced because God had provided for the people, for the thing came about suddenly.

Then another came, saying,‘ Lord, here is your mina, which I kept laid away in a handkerchief;
