and said,“ Go into the village ahead of you. As you enter it, you will find a young donkey tied there, on which no one has ever sat. Untie it and bring it here.

telling them,“ Go to the village ahead of you. When you enter it, you will find a colt tied there that has never been ridden. Untie it and bring it here.

saying,“ Go your way into the village on the other side, in which, as you enter, you will find a colt tied, which no man had ever sat upon. Untie it and bring it.

耶穌差派彼得和約翰出去，說：「你們為我們準備逾越節吃的晚餐。」他們問：「你要我們到哪裡去預備呢？」耶穌回答說：「你們進城的時候，一個男子會扛著一瓶水迎面走來，你們要跟著他，他進哪所房子，你們也進去，對房子的主人說，『老師問你客房在哪裡，祂要和門徒在裡面吃逾越節的晚餐。』那主人會帶你們到樓上一間佈置整齊的大房間，你們就在那裡預備吧。」他們進了城，所遇見的果然和耶穌所說的一樣。他們便在那裡預備逾越節的晚餐。

現在事情還沒有發生，我便先告訴你們，到了事情發生的時候，你們就會相信。

你離開我以後，會在便雅憫境內的泄撒、靠近拉結的墓旁遇見兩個人。他們會告訴你，走失的驢已經找到，現在你父親不再為驢擔心，反為你擔心，說，『我該怎樣找到我的兒子呢？』你繼續往前走，會在他泊的橡樹那裡遇見三個人。他們要到伯特利去敬拜上帝，一個牽著三隻山羊羔，一個帶著三個餅，一個拿著一皮袋酒。他們會問候你，送你兩個餅，你會把餅收下。此後，你會去上帝的山，那裡有非利士人的駐軍。你一進城，就會遇見一群先知從邱壇下來，前面有人鼓瑟、敲鼓、吹笛、彈琴，先知們會說預言。耶和華的靈會降在你身上，你就會跟他們一起說預言，那時，你會變成另一個人。這些兆頭臨到你的時候，你就要見機行事，因為上帝與你同在。你先到吉甲去，在那裡等我七天，我會到那裡獻燔祭和平安祭。我到了以後會告訴你怎麼做。」掃羅轉身離開撒母耳，上帝使他心靈煥然一新。撒母耳所說的預言那天都應驗了。

兩個門徒出去後，所遇見的情形正如耶穌所說的。
