As he approached Bethphage and Bethany at the hill called the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, saying to them,

He approached Bethphage and Bethany. The hill there was called the Mount of Olives. Jesus sent out two of his disciples. He said to them,

Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is nigh unto Jerusalem, a sabbath day’s journey off.

And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and came unto Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,saying unto them, Go into the village that is over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.And if any one say aught unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.Now this is come to pass, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying,Tell ye the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, Meek, and riding upon an ass, And upon a colt the foal of an ass.And the disciples went, and did even as Jesus appointed them,and brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their garments; and he sat thereon.And the most part of the multitude spread their garments in the way; and others cut branches from the trees, and spread them in the way.And the multitudes that went before him, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was stirred, saying, Who is this?And the multitudes said, This is the prophet, Jesus, from Nazareth of Galilee.

And he led them out until they were over against Bethany: and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.

And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east; and the mount of Olives shall be cleft in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

And he left them, and went forth out of the city to Bethany, and lodged there.

And as he was now drawing nigh, even at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works which they had seen;

And every day he was teaching in the temple; and every night he went out, and lodged in the mount that is called Olivet.

And he came out, and went, as his custom was, unto the mount of Olives; and the disciples also followed him.

On the morrow a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,took the branches of the palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried out, Hosanna: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel.And Jesus, having found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written,Fear not, daughter of Zion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass’s colt.These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him.

And when they draw nigh unto Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth two of his disciples,and saith unto them, Go your way into the village that is over against you: and straightway as ye enter into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon no man ever yet sat; loose him, and bring him.And if any one say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye, The Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him back hither.And they went away, and found a colt tied at the door without in the open street; and they loose him.And certain of them that stood there said unto them, What do ye, loosing the colt?And they said unto them even as Jesus had said: and they let them go.And they bring the colt unto Jesus, and cast on him their garments; and he sat upon him.And many spread their garments upon the way; and others branches, which they had cut from the fields.And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord:Blessed is the kingdom that cometh, the kingdom of our father David: Hosanna in the highest.And he entered into Jerusalem, into the temple; and when he had looked round about upon all things, it being now eventide, he went out unto Bethany with the twelve.
