爾常言曰、服事上帝、終屬徒勞、我心甚憂、順從萬有之主耶和華、守其法度、何益之有、我見驕者福祉駢臻、惡者昌盛無比、雖試上帝、亦得免於患難、

以鞫眾、責諸不虔者、為其所行背戾、亦為其狂言讟主、

其平日對上帝曰、我不悅爾道、勿親我、孰為全能之主、事之何為、求之何益。

爾言我耶和華所行、不尚正直、以色列族宜聽我言、我所行者、惟秉大公、爾所為者、尚存偏頗。善人去善作惡、則必因其所為、置諸死地。如惡人悛改素行、孳孳為義、則可得生、因其思慮、悛改厥惡、則保其生、不就死地。以色列族常言、我耶和華所為、不尚正直、爾以色列族乎、我所行者、惟秉至公、爾所為者、不能無私。

謂摩西曰、汝與我言、我則聽從、如上帝與我言、我恐死亡。摩西曰、勿懼、蓋上帝降臨、試於爾眾、俾爾敬畏、毋蹈愆尤。

時大闢畏耶和華曰、可使耶和華之匱適我邑乎。故不舁之至大闢邑中、轉往他所、至迦特人、阿別以東家。耶和華之匱居彼三月、耶和華錫嘏於阿別以東全家。

守全法而犯一誡者、無異犯眾誡、

受一千者至、曰、主也、我知爾乃忍人、未播之處而穫、未散之處而斂、是以我懼、藏爾金於地、今爾故物猶存、

撒母耳曰、毋畏、汝雖嘗行是惡、今而後勿違耶和華、必盡心以服事之。

體欲之情者、不服上帝法、故逆上帝、蓋服法而不能焉、

蓋上帝賜我儕、非畏難之心、乃勇行、仁愛、順理、

愛者不懼、我之愛充然無間、則懼心泯矣、有懼則有憂、懼者不能擴充其愛、

今而後、爾非奴之操心危、所操者乃子之心、籲曰、阿爸父也、

伯示麥人窺耶和華之匱、為所擊者、七十人、時有五萬人在彼、見耶和華降大災、則號哭不勝。伯示麥人曰、耶和華上帝至聖、孰能立於其前、匱離斯土、當往何方。遂遣人告基列耶林民曰、非利士人曾攜耶和華之匱至此、爾曹盍來、攜之以歸。
