要對所有的人施行審判，又要指證每個人以不敬神的方式所做的一切不敬神的事，以及不敬神的罪人所說的一切頂撞神的狂妄話。」

那一天，大衛懼怕耶和華，他說：「耶和華的約櫃怎能到我這裡來呢？」大衛不願意把耶和華的約櫃遷移到大衛城自己那裡，於是把它轉運到迦特人俄別·以東的家。耶和華的約櫃停留在迦特人俄別·以東的家三個月，耶和華祝福了俄別·以東和他全家。

因為那遵守整個律法的人，只在一條上跌倒，就成了干犯所有律法的了。

「接著，那領了一千兩銀子的也上前來，說：『主啊，我知道你是個嚴厲的人，不是你播種的地方，你收穫；不是你投放的地方，你收集。我懼怕，就去把你的銀子藏在地裡。請看，你的銀子在這裡。』

撒母耳對民眾說：「不要害怕。你們雖然做了這一切惡事，但不要偏離耶和華不跟隨他，而要以全心服事耶和華；

原來屬肉體的思想是敵對神的，因為它不服從神的律法，其實也不能服從；

實際上，神所賜給我們的，不是膽怯的靈，而是大能、慈愛、自制的靈。

愛裡沒有懼怕；相反，完美的愛能除去懼怕，因為懼怕帶有懲罰；而那懼怕的，在愛裡沒有得以完全。

就是說，你們所領受的不是一個奴役的靈，使你們再有懼怕；相反，你們所領受的是使你們有兒子名份的聖靈——藉著他，我們呼叫：「阿爸！父啊！」

耶和華擊殺伯示麥人，因為他們擅自看了耶和華的約櫃裡面；他擊殺了民眾五萬零七十個人。耶和華大大擊殺民眾，民眾就悲慟。伯示麥人說：「誰能在這位聖潔的神耶和華面前站立得住呢？應該請他離開我們上誰那裡去呢？」於是他們派遣使者到基列-耶琳的居民那裡，說：「非利士人把耶和華的約櫃送回來了。你們下來，把它帶到你們那裡去吧。」
