因为那遵守整个律法的人，只在一条上跌倒，就成了干犯所有律法的了。

“接着，那领了一千两银子的也上前来，说：‘主啊，我知道你是个严厉的人，不是你播种的地方，你收获；不是你投放的地方，你收集。我惧怕，就去把你的银子藏在地里。请看，你的银子在这里。’

撒母耳对民众说：“不要害怕。你们虽然做了这一切恶事，但不要偏离耶和华不跟随他，而要以全心服事耶和华；

原来属肉体的思想是敌对神的，因为它不服从神的律法，其实也不能服从；

实际上，神所赐给我们的，不是胆怯的灵，而是大能、慈爱、自制的灵。

爱里没有惧怕；相反，完美的爱能除去惧怕，因为惧怕带有惩罚；而那惧怕的，在爱里没有得以完全。

就是说，你们所领受的不是一个奴役的灵，使你们再有惧怕；相反，你们所领受的是使你们有儿子名份的圣灵——藉着他，我们呼叫：“阿爸！父啊！”

耶和华击杀伯示麦人，因为他们擅自看了耶和华的约柜里面；他击杀了民众五万零七十个人。耶和华大大击杀民众，民众就悲恸。伯示麦人说：“谁能在这位圣洁的神耶和华面前站立得住呢？应该请他离开我们上谁那里去呢？”于是他们派遣使者到基列-耶琳的居民那里，说：“非利士人把耶和华的约柜送回来了。你们下来，把它带到你们那里去吧。”
