其一至、曰、主之一斤、已獲十斤矣、

其一至曰、主之十金、已獲百金矣、

其一至曰、主人一彌拿、已獲十彌拿、

一僕先至曰：「主之一金、生利十金。」

The first servant reported,‘ Master, I invested your money and made ten times the original amount!’

Then came the first, saying,‘ Master, your mina has earned ten minas.’

And the first came before him, saying, Lord, thy pound hath made ten pounds more.

The first came before him, saying,‘ Lord, your mina has made ten more minas.’

But someone will say,“ You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith without works and I will show you faith by my works.You believe that God is one; well and good. Even the demons believe that– and tremble with fear.But would you like evidence, you empty fellow, that faith without works is useless?Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?You see that his faith was working together with his works and his faith was perfected by works.And the scripture was fulfilled that says,“ Now Abraham believed God and it was counted to him for righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend.You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.And similarly, was not Rahab the prostitute also justified by works when she welcomed the messengers and sent them out by another way?For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.

“ But who am I and who are my people, that we should be in a position to contribute this much? Indeed, everything comes from you, and we have simply given back to you what is yours.For we are resident foreigners and nomads in your presence, like all our ancestors; our days are like a shadow on the earth, without security.O LORD our God, all this wealth, which we have collected to build a temple for you to honor your holy name, comes from you; it all belongs to you.

I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith!Finally the crown of righteousness is reserved for me. The Lord, the righteous Judge, will award it to me in that day– and not to me only, but also to all who have set their affection on his appearing.

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me has not been in vain. In fact, I worked harder than all of them– yet not I, but the grace of God with me.

We proclaim him by instructing and teaching all people with all wisdom so that we may present every person mature in Christ.Toward this goal I also labor, struggling according to his power that powerfully works in me.
