坐在天上寶座上的主必笑他們，祂必嘲笑他們。那時，祂必怒斥他們，使他們充滿恐懼。祂說：「在我的錫安聖山上，我已立了我的君王。」

財主便把管家召來，對他說，『聽說你浪費我的財物，到底是怎麼回事？把帳目交代清楚，你不能再當管家了。』「管家私下盤算，『主人要辭退我了，怎麼辦呢？鋤地我沒有力氣，討飯我又感到羞恥。我知道該怎麼辦了！就算被辭退了，也會有人照應我。』於是，他把欠他主人債的一個一個召來，問第一個，『你欠了我主人多少？』「他回答說，『一百桶油。』「管家說，『這是你的帳，快坐下，改成五十吧！』「管家又問另一個，『你欠多少？』「他回答說，『一百石麥子。』「管家說，『這是你的帳，改成八十石吧。』「主人誇獎這個不義的管家精明。因為今世的兒女在處理世事方面比光明的兒女更精明。「我告訴你們，要善用今世的錢財，廣結朋友。這樣，當錢財不管用時，他們會接你們到永遠的居所。「一個人在小事上忠心，在大事上也會忠心；在小事上靠不住，在大事上更靠不住。如果你們不能忠心地處理今世的財富，誰會把真正的財富交託給你們呢？如果你們不能忠心地處理別人的產業，誰會把你們名下的產業交給你們呢？一個僕人不能服侍兩位主人，因為他不是恨這位、愛那位，就是重這位、輕那位。你們不能又事奉上帝，又崇拜金錢。」

那麼，你為什麼論斷弟兄姊妹呢？為什麼輕視弟兄姊妹呢？將來我們都要一同站在上帝的審判臺前。聖經上說：「主說，『我憑我的永恆起誓，萬膝必向我跪拜，萬口必稱頌上帝。』」這樣看來，我們各人都要在上帝面前陳明自己一切的事。

因此，人應該把我們當作是基督的僕人，是上帝奧祕之事的管家。對管家的要求是忠心。我對你們或別人給我的評價毫不介意，我也不評價我自己。就算我今日問心無愧，也不能自以為義，因為評價我的是主。所以，時候未到，不可妄下斷語。到主耶穌再來的時候，祂會揭開暗中的隱情，使人心裡的動機顯露。到時候上帝會給各人應得的稱讚。

但因不知道而做了該受懲罰之事的僕人，必少受責打。多給誰，就向誰多取；多託付誰，就向誰多要。

過了很久，這些奴僕的主人回來了，要跟他們結帳。

「因此，天國就像一個王，他要跟奴僕清算債務。正開始清算的時候，有人帶著一個欠了六千萬銀幣的人進來。因為這個人無法清還債款，王就下令把他及其妻兒和所有財產全部賣掉還債。那奴僕跪在王面前乞求說，『請寬容我，我會把債務全部還清的。』王可憐他，不但釋放了他，而且免了他全部的債。「可是，那奴僕出去後，遇見一位欠他一百個銀幣的同伴，就揪住同伴，掐著他的喉嚨說，『還我錢！』同伴跪下哀求道，『請寬容我，我會還你的。』「那奴僕卻不肯，竟把同伴送進監獄，直到他還清債務為止。其他的奴僕目睹這一切，都憤憤不平，把這件事告訴了王。「於是，王把那奴僕召來，說，『你這可惡的奴才！你哀求我，我就免了你所有的債。難道你不應該憐憫你的同伴，就像我憐憫你一樣嗎？』王大怒，下令把他交給獄卒受刑，直到他還清全部的債務。如果你們不從心裡饒恕自己的弟兄，我的天父也要這樣對待你們。」
