And he said unto him, Take thy bond, and sit down quickly and write fifty.Then said he to another, And how much owest thou? And he said, A hundred measures of wheat. He saith unto him, Take thy bond, and write fourscore.And his lord commended the unrighteous steward because he had done wisely: for the sons of this world are for their own generation wiser than the sons of the light.And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends by means of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when it shall fail, they may receive you into the eternal tabernacles.He that is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much: and he that is unrighteous in a very little is unrighteous also in much.If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another’s, who will give you that which is your own?No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

But thou, why dost thou judge thy brother? or thou again, why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment- seat of God.For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, to me every knee shall bow, And every tongue shall confess to God.So then each one of us shall give account of himself to God.

Let a man so account of us, as of ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.Here, moreover, it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man’s judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.For I know nothing against myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.Wherefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then shall each man have his praise from God.

but he that knew not, and did things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. And to whomsoever much is given, of him shall much be required: and to whom they commit much, of him will they ask the more.

Now after a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and maketh a reckoning with them.

Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, who would make a reckoning with his servants.And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, that owed him ten thousand talents.But forasmuch as he had not wherewith to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.The servant therefore fell down and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.And the lord of that servant, being moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt.But that servant went out, and found one of his fellow- servants, who owed him a hundred shillings: and he laid hold on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay what thou owest.So his fellow- servant fell down and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee.And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay that which was due.So when his fellow- servants saw what was done, they were exceeding sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.Then his lord called him unto him, and saith to him, Thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou besoughtest me:shouldest not thou also have had mercy on thy fellow- servant, even as I had mercy on thee?And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due.So shall also my heavenly Father do unto you, if ye forgive not every one his brother from your hearts.
