He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country, to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.

He said:“ A man of noble birth went to a distant country to have himself appointed king and then to return.

Jesus said,“ A man from an important family went to a country far away. He went there to be made king and then return home.

He said therefore,“ A nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and then return.

He said,“ A nobleman was called away to a distant empire to be crowned king and then return.

Therefore he said,“ A nobleman traveled to a far country to receive for himself authority to be king and then to return.

So He said,“ A nobleman went to a distant country to receive a kingdom for himself, and then to return.

For it is as when a man, going into another country, called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one; to each according to his several ability; and he went on his journey.Straightway he that received the five talents went and traded with them, and made other five talents.In like manner he also that received the two gained other two.But he that received the one went away and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.Now after a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and maketh a reckoning with them.And he that received the five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: lo, I have gained other five talents.His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy lord.And he also that received the two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: lo, I have gained other two talents.His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy lord.And he also that had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou didst not sow, and gathering where thou didst not scatter;and I was afraid, and went away and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, thou hast thine own.But his lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I did not scatter;thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the bankers, and at my coming I should have received back mine own with interest.Take ye away therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him that hath the ten talents.For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not, even that which he hath shall be taken away.And cast ye out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.

so Christ also, having been once offered to bear the sins of many, shall appear a second time, apart from sin, to them that wait for him, unto salvation.

He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country, to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.And he called ten servants of his, and gave them ten pounds, and said unto them, Trade ye herewith till I come.But his citizens hated him, and sent an ambassage after him, saying, We will not that this man reign over us.And it came to pass, when he was come back again, having received the kingdom, that he commanded these servants, unto whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by trading.And the first came before him, saying, Lord, thy pound hath made ten pounds more.And he said unto him, Well done, thou good servant: because thou wast found faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.And the second came, saying, Thy pound, Lord, hath made five pounds.And he said unto him also, Be thou also over five cities.And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I kept laid up in a napkin:for I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that which thou layedst not down, and reapest that which thou didst not sow.He saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I am an austere man, taking up that which I laid not down, and reaping that which I did not sow;then wherefore gavest thou not my money into the bank, and I at my coming should have required it with interest?And he said unto them that stood by, Take away from him the pound, and give it unto him that hath the ten pounds.And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.I say unto you, that unto every one that hath shall be given; but from him that hath not, even that which he hath shall be taken away from him.But these mine enemies, that would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.

Behold, he cometh with the clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they that pierced him; and all the tribes of the earth shall mourn over him. Even so, Amen.

who is on the right hand of God, having gone into heaven; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.

For he must reign, till he hath put all his enemies under his feet.

Wherefore also God highly exalted him, and gave unto him the name which is above every name;that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven and things on earth and things under the earth,and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

And when he had said these things, as they were looking, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.And while they were looking stedfastly into heaven as he went, behold two men stood by them in white apparel;who also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye looking into heaven? this Jesus, who was received up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye beheld him going into heaven.

And he began to speak unto them in parables. A man planted a vineyard, and set a hedge about it, and digged a pit for the winepress, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into another country.

which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places,far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:and he put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things to the church,which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken unto them, was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.

And he began to speak unto the people this parable: A man planted a vineyard, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into another country for a long time.

And Jesus came to them and spake unto them, saying, All authority hath been given unto me in heaven and on earth.

And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he parted from them, and was carried up into heaven.

It is as when a man, sojourning in another country, having left his house, and given authority to his servants, to each one his work, commanded also the porter to watch.Watch therefore: for ye know not when the lord of the house cometh, whether at even, or at midnight, or at cockcrowing, or in the morning;lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end have I been born, and to this end am I come into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

But the husbandmen, when they saw the son, said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and take his inheritance.

inasmuch as he hath appointed a day in which he will judge the world in righteousness by the man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
