Then those who went before warned him that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

前行者、斥勿喧。渠愈益大聲疾呼曰：『大維子、其垂憐焉！』

Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Those who led the way commanded him to stop. They told him to be quiet. But he shouted even louder,“ Son of David! Have mercy on me!”

And those who were in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

“ Be quiet!” the people in front yelled at him. But he only shouted louder,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Then those in front told him to keep quiet, but he kept crying out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Those who led the way were sternly telling him to be quiet; but he kept crying out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

And they that went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried out the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.

And those who were in front scolded him to get him to be quiet, but he shouted even more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

And He said,“ Let Me go, for the day breaks.” But he said,“ I will not let You go unless You bless me!”So He said to him,“ What is your name?” He said,“ Jacob.”And He said,“ Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.”

Then they also brought infants to Him that He might touch them; but when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them.

Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs.“ So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd,“ Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.”

“ Woe to you lawyers! For you have taken away the key of knowledge. You did not enter in yourselves, and those who were entering in you hindered.”

And he cried out, saying,“ Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

While He was still speaking, someone came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to him,“ Your daughter is dead. Do not trouble the Teacher.”

Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart,

Lord, I cry out to You; Make haste to me! Give ear to my voice when I cry out to You.

Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter,“ What! Could you not watch with Me one hour?Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying,“ O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done.”And He came and found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy.So He left them, went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.

Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me.

“ Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
