Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Those who led the way commanded him to stop. They told him to be quiet. But he shouted even louder,“ Son of David! Have mercy on me!”

And those who were in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

“ Be quiet!” the people in front yelled at him. But he only shouted louder,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Then those in front told him to keep quiet, but he kept crying out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Those who led the way were sternly telling him to be quiet; but he kept crying out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Then those who went before warned him that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

And they that went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried out the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.

Then those in front told him to keep quiet, but he kept crying out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

那人說：“天快亮了，讓我走吧。”雅各說：“如果你不給我祝福，我就不讓你走。”那人問他：“你叫甚麼名字？”他回答：“雅各。”那人說：“你的名字不要再叫雅各，要叫以色列，因為你與神與人較力，都得了勝。”

有人抱著嬰孩到耶穌面前，要他觸摸他們。門徒看見了，就責備那些人。

‘你們要呼求我，要來向我禱告，我就必應允你們。你們要尋找我，只要一心尋求，就必尋見。

我告訴你們，即使不因為他是朋友而起來給他，也會因為他厚顏地直求，而起來照他所需要的給他。我又告訴你們，你們祈求，就給你們；尋找，就尋見；叩門，就給你們開門。因為所有祈求的就得著，尋找的就尋見，叩門的就給他開門。

群眾中有幾個法利賽人對他說：“先生，責備你的門徒吧！”

你們律法師有禍了！因為你們拿去知識的鑰匙，自己不進去，又阻止要進去的人。”

他就喊叫說：“大衛的子孫耶穌啊，可憐我吧！”

耶穌還在說話的時候，有人從會堂主管家裡來，說：“你的女兒死了，不必再勞動老師了。”

耶穌對他們講一個比喻，論到人必須常常祈禱，不可灰心。

耶和華啊！我呼求你，求你快來幫助我；我呼求你的時候，求你留心聽我的聲音。（本節在《馬索拉文本》包括細字標題）

耶穌回到門徒那裡，看見他們都睡著了，就對彼得說：“你們連一個小時也不能同我警醒嗎？應當警醒、禱告，免得陷入試探；你們心靈雖然願意，肉體卻是軟弱的。”他又再次走開，禱告說：“我的父啊！如果這杯不能離開我，一定要我喝，就願你的旨意成全。”他再回來的時候，看見門徒睡著了，因為他們十分疲倦。他又離開他們，第三次去禱告，說的也是同樣的話。

為了這事，我曾經三次求主，使這根刺離開我。

“你們祈求，就給你們；尋找，就尋見；叩門，就給你們開門。
