前行者、斥勿喧。渠愈益大聲疾呼曰：『大維子、其垂憐焉！』

Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Those who led the way commanded him to stop. They told him to be quiet. But he shouted even louder,“ Son of David! Have mercy on me!”

And those who were in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

“ Be quiet!” the people in front yelled at him. But he only shouted louder,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Then those in front told him to keep quiet, but he kept crying out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Those who led the way were sternly telling him to be quiet; but he kept crying out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Then those who went before warned him that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

And they that went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried out the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.

Then those in front told him to keep quiet, but he kept crying out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

那人說：「天亮了，讓我走吧！」但雅各說：「你不祝福我，我就不讓你走。」那人問道：「你叫什麼名字？」他說：「我叫雅各。」那人說：「你以後不要再叫雅各了，你要叫以色列，因為你跟上帝和人角力都得勝了。」

有許多人把嬰孩帶來要讓耶穌摸一摸他們，為他們祝福，門徒看見，就責備這些人。

那時，你們必呼求我，向我禱告，我也必垂聽。你們尋求我，就必尋見。只要你們全心尋求我，

「我告訴你們，那人雖不念朋友之情，但是倘若你不肯甘休，繼續請求，他最終會起來滿足你的願望。「我告訴你們，祈求，就會給你們；尋找，就會尋見；叩門，就會給你們開門。因為凡祈求的，就得到；尋找的，就尋見；叩門的，就給他開門。

百姓中有幾個法利賽人對耶穌說：「老師，你要責備你的門徒。」

「律法教師啊，你們有禍了！你們拿走了知識的鑰匙，自己不進去，還阻擋那些正要進去的人。」

他就高聲呼喊：「大衛的後裔耶穌啊，可憐我吧！」

耶穌還在說話的時候，有人從雅魯家趕來，對雅魯說：「你的女兒已經死了，不用麻煩老師了。」

耶穌講了一個比喻來教導門徒要常常禱告，不要灰心。

耶和華啊，我向你呼求，求你快來幫助我；我向你呼求的時候，求你垂聽。

耶穌回到三個門徒那裡，見他們都睡著了，就對彼得說：「難道你們不能跟我一同警醒一時嗎？你們要警醒禱告，免得陷入誘惑。你們的心靈雖然願意，肉體卻很軟弱。」祂第二次去禱告說：「我父啊！如果我非喝此杯不可，願你的旨意成就。」祂回來時見他們又睡著了，因為他們睏得眼皮發沉。耶穌再次離開他們，第三次去禱告，說的是同樣的話。

我曾三次祈求主叫這根刺離開我，

「祈求，就會給你們；尋找，就會尋見；叩門，就會給你們開門。
