Now as Jesus was approaching Jericho, a man who was blind was sitting by the road, begging.

As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging.

Jesus was approaching Jericho. A blind man was sitting by the side of the road begging.

As he drew near to Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging.

As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind beggar was sitting beside the road.

As he approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the road begging.

Then it happened, as He was coming near Jericho, that a certain blind man sat by the road begging.

And it came to pass, as he drew nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging:

And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging:

As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the road begging.

As he came near Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the road, begging.

So the neighbors, and those who previously saw him as a beggar, were saying,“ Is this not the one who used to sit and beg?”

As they were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed Him.And two people who were blind, sitting by the road, hearing that Jesus was passing by, cried out,“ Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!”But the crowd sternly warned them to be quiet; yet they cried out all the more,“ Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”And Jesus stopped and called them, and said,“ What do you want Me to do for you?”They* said to Him,“ Lord, we want our eyes to be opened.”Moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes; and immediately they regained their sight and followed Him.

He raises the poor from the dust, He lifts the needy from the garbage heap To seat them with nobles, And He gives them a seat of honor as an inheritance; For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, And He set the world on them.

And a poor man named Lazarus was laid at his gate, covered with sores,and longing to be fed from the scraps which fell from the rich man’s table; not only that, the dogs also were coming and licking his sores.

Then they* came to Jericho. And later, as He was leaving Jericho with His disciples and a large crowd, a beggar who was blind named Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the road.And when he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out and say,“ Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”Many were sternly telling him to be quiet, but he kept crying out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”And Jesus stopped and said,“ Call him here.” So they* called the man who was blind, saying to him,“ Take courage, stand up! He is calling for you.”And throwing off his cloak, he jumped up and came to Jesus.And replying to him, Jesus said,“ What do you want Me to do for you?” And the man who was blind said to Him,“ Rabboni, I want to regain my sight!”And Jesus said to him,“ Go; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he regained his sight and began following Him on the road.

Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through.

And a man who had been unable to walk from birth was being carried, whom they used to set down every day at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, in order for him to beg for charitable gifts from those entering the temple grounds.
