When Jesus heard this, he said to him,“ One thing you still lack. Sell all that you have and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide yourselves purses that do not wear out– a treasure in heaven that never decreases, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys.

Jesus said to him,“ If you wish to be perfect, go sell your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

Tell them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, to be generous givers, sharing with others.In this way they will save up a treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the future and so lay hold of what is truly life.

but one thing is needed. Mary has chosen the best part; it will not be taken away from her.”

And I tell you, make friends for yourselves by how you use worldly wealth, so that when it runs out you will be welcomed into the eternal homes.

Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself to have attained this. Instead I am single- minded: Forgetting the things that are behind and reaching out for the things that are ahead,

Then he said to them all,“ If anyone wants to become my follower, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me.

“ Do not accumulate for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal.But accumulate for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal.

Now, dear friends, do not let this one thing escape your notice, that a single day is like a thousand years with the Lord and a thousand years are like a single day.

Then Peter said to him,“ Look, we have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?”Jesus said to them,“ I tell you the truth: In the age when all things are renewed, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

As they were walking along the road, someone said to him,“ I will follow you wherever you go.”Jesus said to him,“ Foxes have dens and the birds in the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”Jesus said to another,“ Follow me.” But he replied,“ Lord, first let me go and bury my father.”But Jesus said to him,“ Let the dead bury their own dead, but as for you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God.”Yet another said,“ I will follow you, Lord, but first let me say goodbye to my family.”Jesus said to him,“ No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”

I have asked the LORD for one thing– this is what I desire! I want to live in the LORD’s house all the days of my life, so I can gaze at the splendor of the LORD and contemplate in his temple.

All who believed were together and held everything in common,and they began selling their property and possessions and distributing the proceeds to everyone, as anyone had need.

For there was no one needy among them, because those who were owners of land or houses were selling them and bringing the proceeds from the salesand placing them at the apostles’ feet. The proceeds were distributed to each, as anyone had need.So Joseph, a Levite who was a native of Cyprus, called by the apostles Barnabas( which is translated“ son of encouragement”),sold a field that belonged to him and brought the money and placed it at the apostles’ feet.
