But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. (niv)

Peter answered him,“ We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?”Jesus said to them,“ Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. As they were walking along the road, a man said to him,“ I will follow you wherever you go.”Jesus replied,“ Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”He said to another man,“ Follow me.” But he replied,“ Lord, first let me go and bury my father.”Jesus said to him,“ Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.”Still another said,“ I will follow you, Lord; but first let me go back and say goodbye to my family.”Jesus replied,“ No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.” (niv)

One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple. (niv)

All the believers were together and had everything in common.They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. (niv)

that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the salesand put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas( which means“ son of encouragement”),sold a field he owned and brought the money and put it at the apostles’ feet.
