He said to them,“ You are those who justify yourselves in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts. For that which is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.

A man’s pride brings him low, but one of lowly spirit gains honor.

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he will exalt you.

But he gives more grace. Therefore it says,“ God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

For though Yahweh is high, yet he looks after the lowly; but he knows the proud from afar.

Surely he mocks the mockers, but he gives grace to the humble.

He has put down princes from their thrones. And has exalted the lowly.

For the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy, says:“ I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also who is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite.

Because by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight; for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.

She said,“ Let your servant find favor in your sight.” So the woman went her way and ate; and her facial expression wasn’t sad any more.

yet knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the law, because no flesh will be justified by the works of the law.

Now I know that Yahweh is greater than all gods because of the way that they treated people arrogantly.”

When they cast down, you will say,‘ be lifted up.’ He will save the humble person.

Likewise, you younger ones, be subject to the elder. Yes, all of you clothe yourselves with humility, to subject yourselves to one another; for“ God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time,

The fear of Yahweh teaches wisdom. Before honor is humility.

Before destruction the heart of man is proud, but before honor is humility.

Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ;

But to him who doesn’t work, but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness.

Though I am righteous, my own mouth will condemn me. Though I am blameless, it will prove me perverse.

But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”( he said to the paralyzed man),“ I tell you, arise, take up your cot, and go to your house.”Immediately he rose up before them, and took up that which he was laying on, and departed to his house, glorifying God.

But he, desiring to justify himself, asked Jesus,“ Who is my neighbor?”

“ Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.

How then can man be just with God? Or how can he who is born of a woman be clean?

Who could bring a charge against God’s chosen ones? It is God who justifies.

Pride goes before destruction, and an arrogant spirit before a fall.It is better to be of a lowly spirit with the poor, than to divide the plunder with the proud.

Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven; for all his works are truth, and his ways justice; and those who walk in pride he is able to abase.

The lofty looks of man will be brought low, the arrogance of men will be bowed down, and Yahweh alone will be exalted in that day.For there will be a day of Yahweh of Armies for all that is proud and arrogant, and for all that is lifted up; and it shall be brought low:for all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, for all the oaks of Bashan,for all the high mountains, for all the hills that are lifted up,for every lofty tower, for every fortified wall,for all the ships of Tarshish, and for all pleasant imagery.The loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the arrogance of men shall be brought low; and Yahweh alone shall be exalted in that day.

Behold, his soul is puffed up. It is not upright in him, but the righteous will live by his faith.

Don’t enter into judgment with your servant, for in your sight no man living is righteous.

Or do you have an arm like God? Can you thunder with a voice like him?“ Now deck yourself with excellency and dignity. Array yourself with honor and majesty.Pour out the fury of your anger. Look at everyone who is proud, and bring him low.Look at everyone who is proud, and humble him. Crush the wicked in their place.Hide them in the dust together. Bind their faces in the hidden place.

All the offspring of Israel will be justified in Yahweh, and will rejoice!

Wasn’t Abraham our father justified by works, in that he offered up Isaac his son on the altar?You see that faith worked with his works, and by works faith was perfected.So the Scripture was fulfilled which says,“ Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God.You see then that by works, a man is justified, and not only by faith.In the same way, wasn’t Rahab the prostitute also justified by works, in that she received the messengers and sent them out another way?

After the suffering of his soul, he will see the light and be satisfied. My righteous servant will justify many by the knowledge of himself; and he will bear their iniquities.

Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But one to whom little is forgiven, loves little.”He said to her,“ Your sins are forgiven.”Those who sat at the table with him began to say to themselves,“ Who is this who even forgives sins?”He said to the woman,“ Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”

Go your way— eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart; for God has already accepted your works.
