As for me, I will call upon God, And the Lord shall save me.Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, And He shall hear my voice.

I cried out to You, O Lord: I said,“ You are my refuge, My portion in the land of the living.Attend to my cry, For I am brought very low; Deliver me from my persecutors, For they are stronger than I.Bring my soul out of prison, That I may praise Your name; The righteous shall surround me, For You shall deal bountifully with me.”

“ When my soul fainted within me, I remembered the Lord; And my prayer went up to You, Into Your holy temple.

O You who hear prayer, To You all flesh will come.

Then Jacob said,“ O God of my father Abraham and God of my father Isaac, the Lord who said to me,‘ return to your country and to your family, and I will deal well with you’:I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies and of all the truth which You have shown Your servant; for I crossed over this Jordan with my staff, and now I have become two companies.Deliver me, I pray, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau; for I fear him, lest he come and attack me and the mother with the children.For You said,‘ I will surely treat you well, and make your descendants as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.’”

I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living.

For what is the hope of the hypocrite, Though he may gain much, If God takes away his life?Will God hear his cry When trouble comes upon him?Will he delight himself in the Almighty? Will he always call on God?
