On that day no one who is on the housetop, with possessions inside, should go down to get them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything.

I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done.Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ

A person out on the deck of a roof must not go down into the house to pack.A person out in the field must not return even to get a coat.How terrible it will be for pregnant women and for nursing mothers in those days.And pray that your flight will not be in winter or on the Sabbath.For there will be greater anguish than at any time since the world began. And it will never be so great again.

Then those in Judea must flee to the hills. Those in Jerusalem must get out, and those out in the country should not return to the city.

And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?

Satan replied to the Lord,“ Skin for skin! A man will give up everything he has to save his life.

“ That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life— whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?
