On that day no one who is on the housetop, with possessions inside, should go down to get them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything.

Suppose someone is on the housetop on that day. And suppose what they own is inside the house. They should not go down to get what they own. No one in the field should go back for anything either.

On that day, let the one who is on the housetop, with his goods in the house, not come down to take them away, and likewise let the one who is in the field not turn back.

On that day a person out on the deck of a roof must not go down into the house to pack. A person out in the field must not return home.

On that day, a man on the housetop, whose belongings are in the house, must not come down to get them. Likewise the man who is in the field must not turn back.

And do you seek great things for yourself? Do not seek them; for behold, I will bring adversity on all flesh,” says the Lord.“ But I will give your life to you as a prize in all places, wherever you go.”’”

But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ.Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ

Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house.And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes.But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath.For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her.

For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

So Satan answered the Lord and said,“ Skin for skin! Yes, all that a man has he will give for his life.

“ Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
