On that day, the one who will be on the housetop, with his goods in the house, must not go down to take them out; and likewise the one in the field must not turn back.

On that day no one who is on the housetop, with possessions inside, should go down to get them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything.

Suppose someone is on the housetop on that day. And suppose what they own is inside the house. They should not go down to get what they own. No one in the field should go back for anything either.

On that day, let the one who is on the housetop, with his goods in the house, not come down to take them away, and likewise let the one who is in the field not turn back.

On that day a person out on the deck of a roof must not go down into the house to pack. A person out in the field must not return home.

On that day, a man on the housetop, whose belongings are in the house, must not come down to get them. Likewise the man who is in the field must not turn back.

“ In that day, he who is on the housetop, and his goods are in the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise the one who is in the field, let him not turn back.

But as for you, are you seeking great things for yourself? Do not seek them; for behold, I am going to bring disaster on all flesh,’ declares the Lord,‘ but I will give your life to you as plunder in all the places where you may go.’ ”

But whatever things were gain to me, these things I have counted as loss because of Christ.More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them mere rubbish, so that I may gain Christ,

Whoever is on the housetop must not go down to get things out of his house.And whoever is in the field must not turn back to get his cloak.But woe to those women who are pregnant, and to those who are nursing babies in those days!Moreover, pray that when you flee, it will not be in the winter, or on a Sabbath.For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will again.

Then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains, and those who are inside the city must leave, and those who are in the country must not enter the city;

For what good will it do a person if he gains the whole world, but forfeits his soul? Or what will a person give in exchange for his soul?

Satan answered the Lord and said,“ Skin for skin! Yes, all that a man has, he will give for his life.

“ For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothing?
